In gray cast iron and ductile iron casting, it is added to the ladle or furnace to adjust the carbon equivalent of the molten iron and improve the microstructure of the castings (e.g., promoting graphitization and reducing the tendency for white iron).
All-graphite petroleum coke is used for high-precision cast iron parts such as automotive components and machine tool castings to ensure compositional uniformity.
1.Calcined petroleum coke(CPC)

Calcined petroleum coke is used in the casting of low-end gray cast iron parts (agricultural machinery parts, building hardware, well covers) as a low-cost blending raw material.
Common specifications for this application:
► Fixed carbon ≥97% ► Sulfur ≤1.5%
► Volatile matter ≤1.0% ► Ash ≤0.8%
2. Semi-graphite petroleum coke(SGPC)

Semi-graphite petroleum coke is used in the production of mid-range ductile iron and gray cast iron to balance casting quality and production costs.
It is suitable for automotive parts and machine tool castings and is currently the most common choice.
Common specifications for this application:
► Fixed carbon ≥98.5% ► Sulfur ≤0.1%
► Graphitization rate ≥60% ► Ash ≤0.12%
3. All-graphite petroleum coke(GPC)

All-graphite petroleum coke is used in high-end ductile iron and vermicular graphite cast iron to produce high-precision cast iron parts such as automotive parts and machine tool castings.
It solves the problems of white cast iron and shrinkage cavities caused by ordinary carbon raisers and improves the mechanical properties of castings.

► Graphitization rate ≥80% ► Ash ≤0.08%
