Application Details

♦ Suitable Products

Calcinated petroleum coke (low sulfur, high purity) is a core precursor for lithium-ion battery anode materials.

All-graphite petroleum coke can be used as graphitization raw materials for high-end anodes, while semi-graphite petroleum coke are rarely used in this field.

♦ Application Scenarios

Power batteries and consumer electronics batteries

Calcinated petroleum coke is processed through crushing, screening, graphitization, and coating to produce artificial graphite anodes for use in power batteries and consumer electronics batteries.

Common specifications for this application:

Fixed carbon ≥98.5%            Sulfur ≤0.5%,   Ash ≤0.3%,

 Volatile matter ≤0.5%            True density ≥2.0 g/cm³.

Modifying additives

All-graphite petroleum coke can be directly used as modifying additives to improve the conductivity and cycle stability of anode materials.

Common specifications for this application:

Fixed carbon ≥99.5%        Sulfur ≤0.05%,   Ash ≤0.08%,

 Nitrogen ≤300ppm          True density ≥2.25 g/cm³.

Semi-graphite petroleum coke is used in mid-to-low-end lithium-ion battery anode materials or as a substitute for graphitization raw materials to reduce production costs.
