Application Details

♦ Suitable Products

In the field of metal smelting, semi-graphite and all-graphite petroleum coke are mainly used, while calcined petroleum coke is mainly used in the crude refining stage.

♦ Application Scenarios

1.Calcined petroleum coke(CPC)

Calcined petroleum coke is used in electric arc furnaces and submerged arc furnaces for smelting alloy steel and ferroalloys, acting as a recarburizing agent to supplement carbon and improve the fluidity of molten steel.

Common specifications for this application:

                           Fixed carbon ≥98%                                                Sulfur ≤1.0%

                           Volatile matter ≤0.8%                                            Ash ≤0.5%

2. Semi-graphite petroleum coke(SGPC)

Semi-graphite petroleum coke is used in the smelting of low-alloy structural steel and ordinary stainless steel, offering better recarburizing effects than calcined petroleum coke at a lower cost than full-graphite recarburizing agents.

Common specifications for this application:

                          ► Fixed carbon ≥98.5%                                             Sulfur ≤0.15%, Ash ≤0.2%

Volatile matter ≤0.3%                                            Carbon absorption efficiency ≥ 75%

3. All-graphite petroleum coke(GPC)

All-graphite petroleum coke is used in the smelting of high-quality alloy steel, ultra-low carbon stainless steel, and special alloy steel, acting as a highly efficient recarburizing agent to increase carbon absorption and reduce impurities in molten steel.

Common specifications for this application:

                           Fixed carbon ≥99%                                                Sulfur ≤0.05%, Ash ≤0.1%

                          ► Volatile matter ≤0.2%                                           ► Carbon absorption efficiency ≥ 90%
